Junior & Senior Regulations
Each Scholarship is to be used towards tuition costs at Chiron affiliate school or teachers awarded annually for a term of 12 months.
To uplift the Scholarship, students must have paid their tuition fees (or arranged to have paid fees) for enrolment in with their Chiron music school or private music teacher accepted by CLEF.
Scholarships are awarded to students that show musical talent, future potential for musical excellence, commitment their musical and academic education, and are of excellent character.
The scholarship is paid in one instalment on a date to be determined by CLEF.
The Scholarship may be held concurrently with any other scholarship, award or grant provided to the student provided this is disclosed and discussed with the board of CLEF prior to application. No permission will be unreasonably withheld.
The awarding of scholarships (value and quantity) is at the sole discretion of CLEF.
All decisions made by CLEF are final and entirely at CLEF’s discretion. No further correspondence will be entered into.
CLEF has the power to amend or vary these Regulations at any time.
No Scholarship may be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash, credit or otherwise.
Any expenses and taxes related to the Scholarship are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
If the Scholarship winner does not claim the award by the offer expiry date and provide all necessary documentation or materials upon request, then CLEF may withdraw the award.
Scholarship winners must fulfil all subsequent performance obligations required by the Scholarship. Scholarship recipients are expected to perform, free of charge, in up to 8 (eight) performances over the term of the Scholarship to promote and celebrate CLEF.
Scholarship winners consent to their name, image, photographs of performances, interview, and likeness being photographed, recorded, reproduced, broadcast, published, communicated and otherwise used by CLEF and other Chiron Group organisations for non-commercial, promotional purposes. CLEF will consider, but has no obligation, to comply with the Award winner’s requests regarding CLEF publications of the Award winner’s image.
Scholarship recipients agree to be available for and provide media interviews, photographs and other promotional activities as requested by CLEF and must not contact the media in relation to CLEF or its associate organisations without the prior written approval of CLEF.
If a Scholarship recipient breaches any of these Regulations, CLEF may withdraw the scholarship.
These Regulations shall be governed by New Zealand law and the courts of New Zealand shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction to hear and determine all issues and disputes that may arise in relation to these Regulations.
Young Artist Regulations
Each Young Artist Award is to be used towards tuition costs at a Chiron-approved school, institution or teachers) are awarded annually for a term of 12 months (renewable one time).
Young Artist Awards are awarded to students that show exceptional musical talent, future potential for musical excellence, commitment to their musical and academic education, and are of excellent character.
The Young Artist Award is paid in one or multiple instalments on a date(s) to be determined by CLEF.
The Young Artist Award may be held concurrently with any other scholarship, award or grant provided to the student provided this is disclosed and discussed with the board of CLEF prior to application. No permission will be unreasonably withheld.
The awarding of Young Artist Awards (value and quantity) is at the sole discretion of the Chiton Charitable Trust.
All decisions made by CLEF are final and entirely at CLEF’s discretion. No external correspondence will be entered into.

If the Artist is studying overseas, he or she is expected to perform at least one concert in New Zealand for each year the Award is provided.
